Thomas Hooper is fucking awesome.
This post is in tribute to Thomas Hooper because he is an AMAZING, amazing, amazingly, talented artist.
Hooper combines an excellent use of neo-traditional influences with his own subject matter and employs sacred geometry, mandalas, and visceral textures to lends a dark, mystical, almost occult air to his pieces.
While I have many many philosophical and imagery references on a daily basis, his use of dotwork, and radial designs distressed metal, and material effects are a HUGE technical inspiration in my artwork.
I am ever greatful that visionary artists like this exist!
